Inland Waters

I have been asking myself how to visually represent an unceasing exploration of the mind, the immaterial territory which defines our profound natures.
I have used common signs and clues to represent this undefined space in which the person trying introspection always gets lost.

Inland Waters narrates a travel in mind, a changing territory, where clues that would be appropriate for orientation are too vague to be interpreted. The traveler is unable to distinguish any route, he cannot move forward or backward. However, there is not exit : the place is without doors. In this hostile environment, as his landmarks vanish, he becomes more fragile.
His questions remain without answers as he continues to wander on the tortuous path of introspection.

Je me suis demandé comment représenter visuellement l’exploration incessante de l’esprit, territoire immatériel et changeant qui définit la nature profonde de chacun de nous.
J’ai utilisé des signes et indices communs pour retranscrire cet espace indéfini, dans lequel celui qui tente l’introspection se perd presque toujours.

Inland Waters est le récit d’un voyage dans l’esprit, territoire changeant, où les indices qui permettraient de s’orienter sont trop vagues pour être interprétés. Le voyageur ne distingue aucune route, il ne peut ni avancer ni reculer.  Il n’y a toutefois pas de sortie -c’est un endroit sans portes-. Dans cet environnement hostile, ses repères s’effaçant, il se fragilise. Ses questions restent sans réponses alors qu’il continue à déambuler sur le chemin tortueux de l’introspection.
